The Company
Solar Gain is an EPC that was founded by Melissa Black in November 2008 with the intent to provide high quality, customized, solar electric, solar hot water and rainwater harvesting systems to discerning clients. Melissa’s long-standing commitment to sustainability has been the driver not only for Solar Gain, but also for the Southern Arizona Green Chamber of Commerce, where she is a founding member and President.
Chris Martin of CJM Electric, in seeing the financial opportunities solar provides and the explosive growth of the industry, joined forces with Solar Gain in June of 2011 and brought with him his 30 years of electrical contracting and organizational management. Understanding the financial benefits, he is currently in development of his own 1MW Solar PV system on his facility in Nogales, Arizona and will be installing a large PV and solar H2O system on his own home this year as well.
Solar Gain is a proud member of the Southern Arizona Solar Standards Board (SASSB), a trade association who’s goals and values are to uphold honest sales practices, as well as the highest quality standards in the installation of solar systems resulting in high performing, long-lasting systems.
